Frequently asked questions

  • What is life coaching and how is it different from therapy?
Life coaching is a professional partnership between the coach and the client where the coach helps the client achieve their goals and improve their life. Unlike therapy, which focuses on healing past traumas and mental health issues, life coaching focuses on the present and the future, helping the client identify their strengths, set goals, and create action plans to achieve them. While some methodologies may overlap, a Life Coach is neither trained nor authorised/ licensed to deal with clinical psychological issues like depression, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD etc. Life coaching is future focussed and starts from your current state of commitment. A good Life Coach is a lot more equipped to help you deal with day to day stressors and future goals.
  • You are a hypnotherapist too, are you going to take over my thoughts?
Contrary to popular belief (thanks to movies and media) hypnotherapy is not about taking over other people's free will and turn them into chickens. Neither is it a magic pill. It is not possible to turn people's thinking without their own intrinsic permission. Else we would have turned all people into good samaritans (or bad villains).
  • How does Life Coaching and Hypnotherapy tie up in your practice?
I am constantly improving my skill set for greater and long lasting effect on my clients. Both, Life Coaching and Hypnotherapy have similar requirements that is the client wants to move away from some pain and/or towards a better future. The difference lies in the approach in the two modalities. Life coaching approach would require more will power, for example changing a bad behaviour. Hypnotherapy is more direct and delivers quicker result. However, Hypnotherapy may not be as effective in dealing with other life issues as asking for promotion or working out business strategies. I am uniquely experienced in life, formally trained and certified in hypnotherapy and life coaching. Depending on the person and his unique circumstances, I put my skills to use. Much like a master craftsman would use his tools, I can smoothly dip into my tools to deliver results far more quickly.
  • Aren't Life Coaches just a modern day fad?
The answer is yes and no. Just like everything else in life, you get some bad apples and some good. Unfortunately, since Life Coaching is not a government regulated profession, virtually anyone can claim to be a Life Coach. Many young people see established coaches charging a good amount of money and begin calling themselves a Life Coach. There is whole lot difference between a teenager teaching make up on tiktok and a serious Life Coach. No Life Coach worth his salt will give you advices or rattle out the 'quotes'. He will make you see the advice for yourself and then nudge you towards 'your goal'.
  • Who can benefit from life coaching?
Everyone. In fact, almost all high achievers, in any field, have done so only with a coach. And while most people have only heard of sports coaches, the truth is, even high profile businessmen take services of a coach. When you are busy living your life and doing things that you have always done, you do not grow. Imagine taking advantage of someone's life experiences. Getting an unbiased opinion. Anyone can achieve their goals, and increase their happiness and fulfilment with a Life Coach. Whether you're looking to make a career change, improve your relationships, or simply lead a more fulfilled in life, a life coach can help you get there - faster.
  • Hmm.. you got me, but I haven't heard of any good life coach?
Yes you have! You may not be aware that they do more than just write books or speak at seminars or on TED. Think of Tony Robbins, Rich Litvin, Bob Proctor, Esther Perel, Robert Greene and hundreds more. These are of course celebrity life coaches, who are coaching the likes of CEOs of Fortune 500 companies and heads of states (though its not easy to get their names except Tony Robbins who worked with President Clinton) So you see, even the people on top find value in life coaches. Shouldn't you?
  • Can I get a free consultation?
Ask yourself, how many times have got 'free advice'. In fact anything that you got for free and actually used it? How has your life been? That said, all coachees will get the first session of 30 minutes for free. That is not really a freebie. It is kind of a sample if you will, for you and for me. In this 30 minute session we will also assess if you and I are good team. Once we are comfortable, the team goes All In.
  • How does the coaching process work?
The coaching process typically starts with an initial consultation, where the coach gets to know the client and their goals. From there, the coach works with the client to create a customized plan and set specific, measurable goals. The coach then provides guidance, support, and accountability to help the client stay on track and achieve their goals.
  • I am undergoing therapy. What do I need to do?
If you are going through psychotherapy, you can still undergo Life Coaching. They are both dealt different ways, though there may be certain overlaps. Hence, when you decide to undertake Life Coaching, it is highly recommended you let your therapist know. Most therapists who are keeping abreast with the developments in the field may advise you on how to find a good Life Coach or what to look for in one (certifications, training, experience etc)
  • Is Man Redux exclusive to Men?
My current focus is on coaching men, especially those who may be dealing with relationship related issues (divorce, breakups, cheating etc). That said, women may be accepted as coachees too, depending on goals they want to achieve.
